Participate in Sacramento’s Annual Spay Day program!

The Front Street Animal Shelter is once again contributing and participating in Sacramento’s annual Spay Day program. Starting on Saturday, January 17, pet owners can apply to have their pets spayed and neutered for just $15 per cat and $20 per dog on Spay Day Sacramento, March 1.

Each pet will receive spay or neuter surgery, permanent microchip identification, and core vaccinations. The program is open to Sacramento and Yolo County residents who receive public assistance and/or have an annual household income of $35,000 or less. An advance appointment and proof of income is required. Limit two pets pet household (dogs and cats only).  Spay and neuter surgeries will be provided at participating veterinary clinics and animal shelters on or around March 1, 2015. TO APPLY: Fill out an online request form at www.sacanimal.org. Spay Day is for owned pets only — no rescues, please.

One way to achieving a No Kill community for Sacramento is to reduce the number of animals entering the sheltering system.  Unwanted litters can be prevented and this program directly supports that effort.
