Mayor Kevin Johnson welcomes home American Hero, Anthony Sadler

Anthony Sadler, one of the three American heroes that stopped a terrorist attack in France, was the first to return home to Sacramento. He was warmly welcomed home by a gracious crowd at Sacramento City Hall. Mayor Kevin Johnson held a press conference to recognize and show gratitude for the heroic acts of Anthony Sadler.  This was the first time Sadler had spoken in public, since he had returned to the United States, and he announced that he was happy to be home among familiar faces.

After such a crazy few days, it feels good to be back on American soil, especially in Sacramento.” – Anthony Sadler

Anthony Sadler, US Air Force Airman Spencer Stone, and National Guardsman Alek Skarlatos, three childhood friends, were on a sightseeing trip in Europe when they were faced by a gunman. They courageously subdued the gunman aboard the train traveling from Amsterdam to Paris.

During the press conference, Mayor Kevin Johnson thanked and presented Sadler with a Sacramento Kings jersey after seeing Sadler with a Lakers jersey.  The Mayor had also announced a parade will be held when all three of the American heroes return home to Sacramento. Details of the parade will be released when available.
