City is making it easier for you to get out and ride your bike

The City of Sacramento is making it easier for residents to get out and explore the 255 miles of bike lanes and 78 miles of paved paths in the Sacramento region. As part of the City’s commitment to being a more bike friendly community, we have launched helpful tools including the new Bikeway User Map and an Urban Bicycling Class.

Bikeway User Map

The new bike map includes information on all the City’s bikeways as well as helpful tips on bike safety such as: how your helmet should fit; how to lock your bike to a rack; and the different ways to make a left turn.  The bike map is available on our bike program page. Copies are also available at the following places:

Urban Bicycling 101 Class

The Urban Bicycling 101 Class is a great introduction or a refresher for people who bicycle on-street in Sacramento. This FREE in-classroom course is intended to help you bike more often and confidently. The class will include an overview on the following:

Classes are held the 2nd Thursday of each month at 6 p.m., beginning January 12.  Space is limited, so sign up right away!  For more information or to register, please visit the City’s Bicycling Program.
