Heavy winds from storms causing issues Citywide

UPDATED – Thursday, Jan. 19, 3 p.m.

Strong winds, between 30 to 50 MPH, are expected again late this evening, and may cause more downed trees and power outages. The National Weather Service in Sacramento has issued a wind advisory, which is in effect from 1 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, January 20.

As of Thursday morning, the City has received 350 storm-related calls and is currently processing as many of those calls as possible.  With the possible continuing weather, we’re asking residents to please be patient as work orders are cleared and issues taken care of.

  • The City’s first priority is to get eyes on the call to further assess storm-related issues and provide the best solution.
  • All limbs/trees down will be addressed by priority, cleaning up those that affect public safety and right-of-way first.
  • Be aware of potential power lines in or around downed trees and limbs – If overhead power lines are downed, stay clear. Call 911 or 1-888-456-7683 for assistance. Do not touch the wires.
  • If it is a private tree, please contact a private tree service for assistance.
  • Please call in issues only once; duplicated calls slow the process.
  • If wait times are high for calling 311, issues can be reported at Sac311.org.

Due to the high amount of incoming calls, it may take several days to complete all tasks. The City appreciates your patience and will resolve your issue as soon as possible.
