Closure required to allow Union Pacific and City crews to perform railroad track repairs and pavement activities.
The City of Sacramento Department of Public Works has scheduled the closure of J Street to allow Union Pacific and Street Maintenance crews to perform railroad track repairs and paving activities. The work is needed to improve railroad tracks and road pavement conditions at this railroad crossing.
When: Thursday, December 7 from 8 a.m. to Monday, December 11 at 4 p.m.
Traffic Impacts: J Street will be closed to traffic between 19th and 20th Streets. Motorists are encouraged to follow provided detour route signs and expect minor traffic delays.
Detour Route:
Turn Right on 19th Street and go Southbound to N Street; turn Left on N Street and go Eastbound to 21st Street; turn Left on 21st Street and go Northbound to J Street.
