Up to $750,000 will be available through a competitive grant process. In order to assist applicants with the process, a technical workshop will be provided on Wednesday, March 1, at 2 p.m. at the Pannell Center, 2450 Meadowview Rd., room A/B. Attendance is not mandatory but highly recommended.

The Mayor’s Gang Prevention and Intervention Task Force was created to respond to increased gang activity in the City of Sacramento. There is a shared understanding amongst all partner agencies that “this is a problem we cannot arrest our way out of.” Over the last two years, the City awarded $2.1 million in grants to 28 non-profit organizations to address youth and gang violence.
Gang violence is a community-wide problem thus requiring a community-wide response. The City is committed to a coordinated, comprehensive effort that combines the latest research and best practices with an intentional focus on providing more prevention and intervention services to high-risk and gang-involved populations.
