City celebrates the completion of the Front Street Embarcadero

With a snip and a shout, City of Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg, Vice Mayor, Steven Hansen and reps from Downtown Sacramento Partnership, and Old Sacramento celebrated the completion of the Front Street Embarcadero.

This milestone event celebrated the collaborative effort among City officials, the business community, and partners to revitalize the waterfront. The ceremony kicked off summer events and activities in the historic district and highlights the vision of waterfront activation.

The project consisted of rehabilitation of the waterfront walkway between J Street and Neasham Circle, west of Front Street. Worn out boards at the end of their lifecycle were replaced with stamped concrete, a more durable, and safer alternative that still feels like wood.
