Road closures and parking restrictions for AMGEN begin Saturday

City encourages residents and visitors to plan ahead

The City of Sacramento encourages motorists to plan for this year’s AMGEN Tour of California bicycle race, Sunday, May 12, featuring the world’s most elite bicycle racing teams.

The race begins at 2:15 p.m. and will conclude at 5:30 p.m. The festival, which will be held at 1400 10th Street, will begin at 12 p.m. and end at 6:30 p.m.

All businesses will remain open during the race, but residents are encouraged to watch for road closures and parking restrictions.

Road closures will begin on Saturday, May 11 at 8 a.m. and will gradually increase throughout the day and into Sunday, May 12. Please see the following map and schedule for road impacts.

Closures beginning Saturday, May 11:

Saturday, May 11 from 8 a.m. to Monday, May 13 at 1 a.m.

Saturday, May 11 from 4 p.m. to Monday, May 13 at 1 a.m.

Closures beginning Sunday, May 12

Sunday, May 12 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Sunday, May 12 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Plan ahead when traveling to downtown.
