Sacramento approved to resume filming with restrictions starting June 12

The Sacramento Office of Film and Media received approval from the Sacramento County Department of Health Services to resume filming starting June 12 while adhering to the guidelines set forth in the “Industry-Wide Labor-Management Safety Committee Task Force” (the “Task Force”) proposed health and safety guidelines and the guidelines set by specific unions.

The resumption of restricted filming in Sacramento County was approved by the County directly following the California Department of Public Health’s statement on June 5 that “Music, TV and film production may resume in California, recommended no sooner than June 12, 2020, and subject to approval by county public health officers within the jurisdictions of operations.”

Union workers should refer to their unions for further specific safety guidelines and non-union workers should follow the guidelines addressed by the Task Force in their proposed health and safety guidelines.

“We are thrilled to be approving permits to resume filming activities starting June 12,” said Sacramento Film Commissioner Jennifer West. “Taking the recommendations from the Task Force, the City is confident production teams will be able to implement the recommended safety procedures to protect the safety of the public, crew and actors.”
