Share your thoughts about Front Street Animal Shelter’s services and priorities to help shape its future

How would you rate the overall access to affordable veterinary care in Sacramento? Have you ever adopted a pet from one of Sacramento’s local animal shelters? How should the City deal with people who neglect animals? What services should Front Street Animal Shelter prioritize?

In collaboration with the City Auditor’s Office and Polco, the City of Sacramento Front Street Animal Shelter has created a community survey to receive input from City of Sacramento residents that will help guide the shelter in planning programs and services.

The survey results will be used by community members assigned to a new Animal Welfare Commission, which will evaluate the needs of the shelter and community and provide advice and recommendations to the Mayor and City Council on shelter operations and animal issues impacting the City.

The shelter provides many services to the community, including animal control, investigations of cruelty and neglect, stray intake, adoptions, lost pet support, community vaccination events and more. The survey is designed to help the shelter gain insight to better tailor its services to the priorities and needs of Sacramento residents.

The survey is currently open and will close on Aug. 27, 2021.

The English version of the survey can be found at https://polco.us/sv5h26.
