Interested in participating in City summer programs and activities? Here’s how to sign up

Starting at noon Wednesday, April 19, the City’s Department of Youth, Parks and Community Enrichment will open registration for summer programs and activities.

“From outdoor adventures to water sports, our summer programs have something for everyone,” said Anthony Munoz, recreation manager for YPCE’s Community Enrichment division.

Sacramento families will find opportunities for camps, youth programs, pools and other activities. Early online registration is strongly recommended as spots fill fast.

While you wait for the registration date, view the Come Out and Play 2023 Summer Preview to plan which programs to enroll into.

Summer Camps

Kids CampCity community centers will provide a safe space for youth to enjoy an array of exciting activities including games, crafts, cooking projects, drama, science and sports. These free programs are available at eight locations.

Summer OasisDesigned for grades 1-6 with plenty of individual hands-on activities, supervised exploration, and interactive fun. Two programmed sessions available at East Portal Park, Garcia Bend Park, North Natomas Regional Park and William Land Park. Campers should bring lunch/snacks, water bottles, and sunscreen.

Teen Scene:  This free program is for teens ages 12-17. Staff will lead activities including creating art projects, engaging in fun activities and focusing on social emotional learning.

Aquatics

Summer registration will also bring increased aquatics programming including swim lessons, swim team, aquacise, and Jr. Lifeguard.

Pools will open citywide for recreation swim and other water safety programs in June. Visit cityofscramento.org/aquatics for more information.
