Thousands of runners are expected to participate in the 41st California International Marathon on Sunday, Dec.8.
With a course that has remained unchanged since its inception, the marathon will temporarily close several streets in downtown, midtown and East Sacramento starting Friday, Dec. 6.
The 26.2-mile race starts at Folsom Dam and ends at the California State Capitol.
Streets affected by the marathon reopen Sunday afternoon (see details below).
Friday, Dec. 6 at 8 a.m. to Sunday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m.
- Capitol Mall from 8th to 9th streets
- 10th Street from L to N streets
- 9th Street from L to N streets
- Traffic Circle (south) from 9th to 10th streets
Saturday Dec. 7 at 8 a.m. to Sunday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m.
- Capitol Mall from 7th to 8th streets
- N Street from 8th to 9th streets
Sunday, Dec. 8 from 4 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- L Street from 7th to 15th streets
- 8th Street from L to N streets
- N Street from from 7th to 13th streets
The marathon course closes additional streets from 7 a.m. and will re-open once runners are clear.
