Streets are closing Dec. 6-8 for the California International Marathon. Here’s where

Thousands of runners are expected to participate in the 41^st California International Marathon on Sunday, Dec.8.

With a course that has remained unchanged since its inception, the marathon will temporarily close several streets in downtown, midtown and East Sacramento starting Friday, Dec. 6.

The 26.2-mile race starts at Folsom Dam and ends at the California State Capitol.

Streets affected by the marathon reopen Sunday afternoon (see details below).

Friday, Dec. 6 at 8 a.m. to Sunday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m.

• Capitol Mall from 8^th to 9^th streets
• 10^th Street from L to N streets
• 9^th Street from L to N streets
• Traffic Circle (south) from 9^th to 10^th streets

Saturday Dec. 7 at 8 a.m. to Sunday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m.

• Capitol Mall from 7^th to 8^th streets
• N Street from 8^th to 9^th streets

Sunday, Dec. 8 from 4 a.m. to 7 p.m.

• L Street from 7^th to 15^th streets
• 8^th Street from L to N streets
• N Street from from 7^th to 13^th streets

The marathon course closes additional streets from 7 a.m. and will re-open once runners are clear.
