Youth employment fair returns March 8 with job and resource opportunities

Young people looking to connect with local employers are invited to attend the City’s annual Youth Resource & Employment Fair on Saturday, March 8, from 9:30 a.m. to noon.

Held at City Hall (915 I St.), this free event welcomes youth and young adults ages 13 to 24 who are eager to explore job opportunities, career pathways, and community resources.

Hosted by the Youth, Parks & Community Enrichment (YPCE) Department, this year’s fair will feature more than 30 vendors representing industries such as trade schools, higher education, financial institutions, and more. Attendees will have access to valuable information on stipend-based programs, seasonal employment, and career opportunities.

“We want to equip young people with the tools and connections they need to succeed,” said Kris Wimberly, Recreation Superintendent for Youth Workforce Development operations. “Whether they’re searching for their first job, a summer opportunity, or long-term career guidance, this event provides an important stepping stone.”

Beyond employer booths, attendees can take advantage of free professional headshots and one-on-one support to set up their online application account—required for all City employment opportunities.

Job seekers will also have the chance to win raffle prizes and receive a free swag bag, while supplies last.

Interested participants can register online in advance or sign up in-person the day of the event. Questions about the event can be sent to youthresourcefair@cityofsacramento.org.

Attendees can ride free on SacRT fixed-route buses and light rail from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. by presenting the event flyer.
