Sacramento hospitality industry invited to attend upcoming ‘Safe Night Out’ training

The City of Sacramento’s Office of Nighttime Economy is partnering with local nonprofit crisis intervention center WEAVE to offer “Safe Night Out” training for hospitality businesses from 3 to 5 p.m. on Aug. 7.

The training will be held at 300 Richards Blvd., room 221. RSVPs are encouraged. Email prevention@weaveinc.org to RSVP or for any additional questions.

Safe Night Out is a WEAVE prevention program that provides training for hospitality staff to recognize warning signs of sexual and domestic violence and respond appropriately to ensure the safety of establishments and patrons.

This free, two-hour training and certification program educates bar and restaurant staff on sexual harassment, sexual assault, domestic violence, and bystander intervention.

“A safe and vibrant nightlife is essential to Sacramento’s identity,” said the City’s Nighttime Economy Manager Tina Lee-Vogt. “This training supports our ongoing work to strengthen safety and coordination across hospitality and nighttime businesses.”

The City offers quarterly “Pubs, Clubs, and Bars” training sessions to provide hospitality and nighttime businesses with information and resources to support safe and successful operations.

Details about upcoming trainings are available on the City’s website.
