The Sacramento Police Department is inviting athletes, those looking for a career in law enforcement or just looking for a fun way to test abilities to attend the annual Female Fitness Challenge on Saturday, Aug. 23, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at McKinley Park, 601 Alhambra Blvd.

This will be a dynamic day filled with team-building competitions, individual workouts, as well as, opportunities to connect with Sacramento PD female officers and professional staff.  Prize giveaways, wellness resources, and the opportunity to explore Specialized Units will be available.

“This is a great way to learn more about law enforcement careers and be able to speak with recruiters in a fun and supportive environment,” said Public Information Officer, Allison Smith.

The goal of the Female Fitness Challenge is to promote Sacramento Police Chief Lester’s continued commitment to the 30X30 initiative to hire 30% of female officers by 2030.

The 30×30 initiative is to have 30 percent of women in sworn positions by 2030, ensuring police departments are truly representative of the communities they serve.  While 30×30 is focused on advancing women in policing, these principles are applicable to all demographic diversity, not just gender.

This year’s challenge will include the entry level Physical Ability Test also known as the “Work Sample Test Battery,” which is the physical fitness assessment designated by Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) required for all Sacramento PD officers.

See the attached flyer for additional information and to register. Check-in begins at 8 a.m. Be sure to show up early to stretch and come prepared with water, workout gear, and positive energy.
