With temperatures climbing in the coming days, the City of Sacramento is reminding residents of places to cool off — from spray parks and pools to community centers and libraries.
Pool and spray parks
- Pools: North Natomas Aquatics Complex, Tahoe Pool, Clunie Pool, Pannell Meadowview Pool, and Southside Pool, are open for recreation swim and other aquatics programming.
- Spray parks/splash pads: Open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Labor Day. A list of locations is available here.

Community Centers
Community centers are open weekdays for air-conditioned relief, with some also open on Saturdays.
- Belle Cooledge Community Center (Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
- Clunie Community Center (Tuesday– Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
- Coloma Community Center (Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. | Saturday, 8 a.m. to noon)
- George Sim Community Center (Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. | Saturday, 8 a.m. to noon)
- Hart Senior Center (Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

Libraries
Most Sacramento libraries are open during normal business hours: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. Check the library website for details.
Cooling Centers
The City is activating cooling centers to offer relief from the heat.
Tips to stay safe
- Drink plenty of water.
- Take cool showers.
- Always wear a life jacket in waterways.
- Limit your pets’ exposure outside and on hot sidewalks.
- Never leave infants or pets inside cars.
- Wear lightweight, light-colored, and loose-fitting clothing.
