Hospitality and nighttime businesses are encouraged to attend a “Stop the Bleed” training from 3–4:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, presented in partnership with the City’s Office of Nighttime Economy and UC Davis Health.
Held during National Stop the Bleed Month, this training equips participants with essential skills to control severe bleeding in emergencies, enhancing community safety.
The training will be held at 300 Richards Blvd., Room 221, with free on-site parking available. Space is limited and RSVPs are encouraged.
To RSVP or ask questions, email nighttime@cityofsacramento.org.
This free session is led by trauma nurse practitioners, nurses, and physicians from UC Davis Health. Participants will learn techniques such as applying tourniquets, wound packing and direct pressure, which can be used during emergencies or situations when immediate medical response is delayed.
“Building a vibrant nightlife requires collaboration and education,” said Tina Lee-Vogt, the City’s Nighttime Economy Manager. “Providing life-saving skills is vital for ensuring a safer, more confident community that is prepared to respond in emergencies.”
The City offers various training sessions to provide hospitality and nighttime businesses with information and resources to support safe and successful operations. Visit the City’s website for more information about upcoming trainings.
