The City’s Incident Management Team (IMT) received 2,676 calls for service from June 1–July 5 and responded by engaging people experiencing homelessness, offering services and shelter options, and ensuring compliance with City laws and ordinances.
Efforts to expand shelter capacity also continued during the reporting period with the opening of the City’s new Safe Camping site in the River District. The site provides space for approximately 100 people experiencing homelessness and offers participants access to case management, housing navigation, behavioral health services and other supportive resources.
The Safe Camping site is the latest addition to Sacramento’s broader homelessness response system, which includes the Roseville Road Service Campus, the Outreach and Engagement Center, the Meadowview Navigation Center, the Emergency Bridge Housing at the Grove program for transitional-aged youth and the Stockton Boulevard Safe Stay community.
