Hospitality and nightlife staff members are invited to a de-escalation training on Thursday, July 23, from 3–4 p.m.
The free training is hosted by the City of Sacramento’s Office of Nighttime Economy in partnership with the Sacramento Police Department. It will take place at 300 Richards Blvd., Room 221, and free on-site parking is available.
Participants will learn practical techniques for safely managing tense situations that may occur in hospitality and nightlife settings. The session will focus on de-escalation strategies to help staff respond to confrontations safely and effectively, thereby creating a safer environment for both employees and patrons.
“De-escalation is an important skill that can help prevent situations from becoming more serious,” said the City’s Nighttime Economy Manager, Tina Lee-Vogt. “Our partners with the Sacramento Police Department will share practical techniques and resources that support hospitality and nightlife businesses in creating safer environments for everyone.”
The City offers various training sessions for hospitality and nighttime businesses to provide information and resources to support safe and successful operations. More information about upcoming trainings is available on the City’s website.
