Skaters of all ages and skill levels are invited to a free open house at the 28th and B Skate Park on Sunday, Nov. 1, to explore the park, connect with fellow skaters and learn about expanded opportunities to use the facility.
The City of Sacramento’s Department of Youth, Parks & Community Enrichment (YPCE) is partnering with Rob Skate Academy to expand public access to the park through dedicated skate hours beginning in November.
The partnership is intended to create more opportunities for community members to skate, develop their skills and connect with others in a supportive environment.
“Skateboarding brings people together, and we want to make sure our community has opportunities to enjoy this space,” said Katie Houser, recreation manager with YPCE. “Through our partnership with Rob Skate Academy, we’re expanding access to the park and creating more opportunities for skaters of all experience levels to learn, practice and connect.”
The open house will feature free access to the skate park, community resources, food trucks and activities for the community to enjoy alongside local skaters, Rob Skate Academy and Councilmember Phil Pluckebaum.
Event details:
- When: Sunday, Nov. 1, from 2 to 6 p.m.
