Sacramento celebrates Greta Gerwig with summer film series at Crocker Art Museum

Film enthusiasts are invited to the Crocker Art Museum’s “Movies Off the Wall” series, presented in partnership with Sacramento Film + Media office and Councilmember Katie Valenzuela.

The series this summer will feature three special film screenings in the museum’s outdoor courtyard, showcasing Sacramento native Greta Gerwig’s acclaimed films: “Barbie,” “Frances Ha,” and “Lady Bird.”

“This is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate Greta Gerwig, a remarkable talent from our own hometown, in such a unique and beautiful setting,” said Sacramento Film Commissioner Jennifer West. “This movie screening collaboration highlights the vibrant cultural scene here in Sacramento.”

The “Movies Off the Wall” series is set against the stunning backdrop of the Teel Family Pavilion’s iconic architecture. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to secure their seats and enjoy a bite from Majka at the Crocker, all while grooving to film-inspired DJ sets. As the sun sets, viewers can relax under the stars and experience these iconic films on a larger-than-life scale.

Film schedule:

Thursday, June 20 at 7 p.m.

Frances Ha

The series pass is available for $48 per person, with individual show tickets priced at $16 per person. Tickets can be purchased on the Crocker Art Museum’s website.
