Apply to this startup competition for a chance to be awarded $10,000

The Sacramento Kings are now accepting applications for their ninth annual Capitalize: Technology contest, the NBA’s first crowdsourced startup competition that offers local entrepreneurs a chance to gain publicity, receive mentorship and secure funding for their business.

Capitalize, in partnership with the City of Sacramento’s Office of Innovation and Economic Development and Dialpad, extends an opportunity for innovators to showcase new products and services on the NBA’s global stage.

“The City is proud to support this competition, which has successfully spotlighted many local entrepreneurs in Sacramento,” said Aubree Taylor, the City’s Development Project Manager. “This is a great opportunity for local startups and entrepreneurs to showcase their ideas and receive mentorship.”

Startups and entrepreneurs located within 70 miles of Golden 1 Center are eligible to apply. Applications close Feb. 15 at 11:59 p.m.

Select applicants will receive mentorship and coaching as they prepare to present their pitches to a panel of executives, investors and industry leaders. The final four chosen at Pitch Day will create videos for fan voting starting on April 1.

Fan voting will continue until halftime during the Sacramento Kings vs. New Orleans Pelicans game on April 11. The winner will be announced in-game and will be awarded $10,000 for further development of their business and three years of access to Dialpad communications services.
