A major motion picture will be filming in downtown Sacramento Feb. 10 through 13. Filming activities on these days include action scenes such as simulated gunfire, car chases, crashes and helicopter work.
“While the simulated elements may resemble real-life situations, the City and Sacramento Film + Media office wants the public to know that they are part of a controlled production for entertainment purposes only,” Sacramento Film Commissioner Jennifer West said.
The Sacramento Film + Media Office, working closely with local authorities, has ensured all necessary permits and safety measures are in place. The safety and security of the community are of utmost priority throughout the filming process, according to officials.
“Our collaboration with the Sacramento Police Department, Sacramento Fire Department, Department of Public Works, and other agencies ensures a seamless and secure environment for both the film crew and the public,” West said.
While these dynamic scenes unfold, residents and visitors may experience temporary impacts, including increased noise levels and temporary road closures. The City encourages everyone to plan accordingly and allow for extra travel time through the downtown corridor.
“We are thrilled to have these creative projects come to life in Sacramento,” West said. “We appreciate your cooperation and support as we showcase the beauty and vitality of Sacramento through these cinematic endeavors.”
Helicopter scenes are expected to be filmed Saturday and possibly Monday.
Road closures begin at 7 a.m. and all roads are expected to be reopened by 8 p.m.
