This upcoming St. Patrick’s Day weekend will see multiple events close various streets across Sacramento.
Saturday, March 16, will see the first of two races for Shamrock’n, the annual 5k, 10k and half marathon event organized by Fleet Feet.
Residents and motorists are advised to check the maps below and add extra time if they plan on driving in or out of the area during the morning hours. All races begin and end at Sutter Health Park.
The Sacramento Police Department will facilitate rolling street closures. Officers will close streets as late as possible and reopen as early as safety allows.

- Front Street from Neasham Circle to J Street (full closure)
- J Street from Front to Second streets (full closure)
- Second Street from J to L streets (full closure)
- Front Street from O Street to Broadway (west lane)
- Ramp Way from Broadway to Miller Park Circle (east lane closed)
- Sacramento River Bike Trial access from Miller Park between Front Street and Ramp Way
- Riverside Boulevard from 25th Street to Sutterville Road (west lane closed)
- Riverside Boulevard from 25th Street to San Mateo Way (west lane closed)
- Broadway from Third to Front streets (metered traffic)
- Front Street from Second to Fifth streets (full closure)
- Front Street from Broadway to V Street (metered traffic)
- R Street from Second to Fifth streets (full closure)
- Fifth Street from R to N streets (full closure)
- N Street from Fifth to Seventh streets (full closure)
- Seventh Street from N Street to Captiol Mall (SacRT Light Rail still operating)

Those living in the Land Park neighborhood can locate their specific area on the race’s neighborhood plan map for the times participants are expected to be in the area for Sunday’s half marathon.
Old Sacramento Waterfront’s Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival
The annual St. Patrick’s Day parade and festival in Old Sacramento will take place Saturday, March 16.
Residents and visitors interested in attending are encouraged to plan ahead, take alternative transportation and watch for street closures.
The parade begins at 1 p.m. on J and Second streets with the festival running from noon to 5 p.m. All Old Sacramento streets will be closed to vehicle traffic from noon to 3 p.m.
Attendees planning to drive and park can use the SacPark system to reserve spots in advance.
