Splash and swim for $1 at City pools on June 15 and 16

The City’s Department of Youth, Parks, & Community Enrichment is kicking off summer at Sacramento public pools, with 15 facilities set to be open June 15.

To celebrate, the City will host a “Summer Kickoff Weekend” June 15 and 16 with $1 admission at neighborhood pools.

“We are excited to welcome Sacramento families back to our facilities for another fantastic summer of swimming, learning, and making memories,” said Recreation Superintendent Sjon Swanson.

YPCE this year will continue many aquatics programs offering swim lessons, swim team, aquaccise, recreational swimming and lap swimming at 11 lifeguarded pools at the start of the summer season. Four free play/wading pools will be open for children under 7.

For recreation swim through the summer, neighborhood pools will cost $2 for youth and $4 for adults and will be open with varying hours and days. North Natomas Aquatics Complex costs $6 for youth and $8 for adults and will be open 7 days per week through August.

Additionally, the City and Sacramento Public Library are offering a Summer Reading program, where youth can receive free swim passes and swim lessons by reading books through their local library.

Swim Safe Scholarships are available to provide free aquatics programs to youth and families demonstrating financial need.

Spray parks also operate from Memorial Day to Labor Day weekends. Valley Oak and Witter Ranch spray parks are currently closed for maintenance.
