Storefront improvement grants now available for businesses on Northgate Boulevard

The City of Sacramento is now accepting applications for the Northgate Boulevard Storefront Improvement Grant Program, aimed at enhancing the exterior appearance of businesses located on Northgate Boulevard.

Led by the District 3 City Council office, applicants can apply for up to $15,000 to fund façade improvements such as new paint, signage, lighting, windows, doors, or awnings.

“Increasing beautification and safety for our Northgate Boulevard businesses will catalyze other economic development goals for our City,” said District 3 Councilmember Karina Talamantes. “It will support the retention and growth of existing businesses, deter vacancies, and spur new investment. Our goal is to attract more visitors to come shop and dine on the Northgate corridor.”

A total of $200,000 is available. The funds are part of a $5 million Federal American Rescue Plan (ARP) allocation set aside for the “Northgate Boulevard Economic Recovery Plan,” which was approved as part of the City Council’s ARP spending framework.
