As record temperatures send residents and visitors to regional waterways, City staff want to learn more about their recreational habits.
The City’s Department of Utilities is asking boaters and waterway users to take a short survey about their habits on rivers and lakes.
The survey is part of the “Keep Our Waters Clean” program, which aims to educate people about clean and safe boating habits, including the use of pumpouts and restrooms.
“Our rivers and lakes are not only great for boating, swimming and fishing, but they also provide drinking water for millions of Californians,” said Carlos Eliason, a spokesperson for the Department.
About 80 percent of Sacramento’s water supply comes from the Sacramento and American rivers.
People can respond to the survey here, which takes about five minutes to complete.
Results of the survey will be used to better understand the community’s boating and recreational habits as well as plan future outreach efforts.
