Families looking for a memorable summer getaway still have a chance to experience Camp Sacramento, with openings for some sessions, including newly added bonus sessions and a senior camp option.
The City of Sacramento’s popular family camp, located in the Eldorado National Forest, offers a classic outdoor retreat with a variety of activities included, such as arts and crafts, campfires, hiking, and organized games.
“Whether you’ve been coming for years or you’ve always wanted to try it, now’s the perfect opportunity to experience the magic of Camp Sacramento,” said YPCE recreation manager Sjon Swanson. “We’re excited to welcome new and returning families this season.”
There is still availability in regular summer sessions, giving families a chance to experience Camp Sacramento. These are the sessions that have cabins available:
- Mini 1 (June 15–18)
- Mini 2 (June 18–21)
- Week 1 (June 23–28)
- Mini 4 (July 2-5)
- Mini 8 (July 30–August 2)
Additionally, Camp Sacramento is offering a new Bonus Summer Session from August 4–7, designed for families who missed the main booking window or ended up on waitlists. Registration for all available sessions is open through the UltraCamp portal.
Participants in the bonus session will enjoy the full Camp Sacramento experience, from cozy cabins to communal meals and family-oriented activities.
Camp Sacramento is also hosting Senior Camp 2025, from August 18 –21, specifically for adults aged 50 and older. Registration opens May 1 at noon, and cabins will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. This session offers a relaxed environment for seniors to enjoy the traditional camp experience.
To register for Senior Camp:
- After registration opens, create or log into an UltraCamp account.
- Send an email to CampSacramento@CityOfSacramento.org stating that you would like a reservation in “Senior Camp 2025.”
- Campers will be placed in cabins in the order emails are received, based on the date and time of submission.
Campers for this session must be 50 years or older to participate. Those requesting accessible cabins should include accommodation needs with their reservation email. A $100 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of reservation.
All sessions at Camp Sacramento emphasize creating lasting family memories. The cost covers meals, lodging in rustic cabins, and access to a wide range of activities designed to bring campers together in a fun, unplugged setting.
