Hear local business success stories at this May 7 event

Notable small business owners will discuss their journeys from startup to success during this year’s BizX event.

Held annually as part of Capital Region Small Business Week (CRSBW), BizX is the premier business resource and networking event, hosted by the City of Sacramento’s Office of Innovation and Economic Development and Sacramento County’s Office of Economic Development.

This year’s theme, “Dream Big, Start Small,” highlights entrepreneurs who turned their ideas into thriving enterprises. The speakers include:

  • Ginger Elizabeth Hahn, owner of Ginger Elizabeth Chocolates
    • Learn about how Hahn built her renowned luxury chocolate brand through passion, innovation, and resilience.
  • Ernesto Delgado, restaurateur and owner of Tequila Museo Mayahuel, La Cosecha Sacramento, Octopus Baja Sacramento, Oaxaca and Mesa Mercado Carmichael
    • Hear how Delgado mastered the art of creating immersive restaurants that have become a cornerstone of Sacramento’s culinary scene.
  • Susan O’Brien, owner of The Kitchen Table
    • Listen to how O’Brien turned her joy of cooking into two thriving retail stores that emulate the warmth of home.
  • Ivan Pislar, owner and operator of Simply Recycling
    • Learn about how Pislar got started in the impact-driven business of recycling.
  • Dante Williams, owner and roaster of The Black Coffee Roastery
    • Get inspired by Williams’ path to becoming an expert coffee roaster who is committed to quality, freshness, and responsible sourcing.

The event will be held on May 7 from 3-6 p.m. at The Assembly at Aggie Square, located on the second floor of 200 Aggie Square (4480 Second Ave).

Interested individuals can register here. Tickets are $10 per person. Attendees will have the chance to explore small business resource booths, network with fellow entrepreneurs, and enjoy light refreshments.

The first 100 registrants receive free parking validation and a complimentary box of Ginger Elizabeth truffles.
