The Sacramento Police Department is on the search for new recruits and hosting a free career fair on Saturday, August 2, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at John F. Kennedy High School, 6715 Gloria Dr.
“This event is a great opportunity for community members and employees to learn more about careers in law enforcement, meet officers, and explore available positions within the police department for free,” said Public Information Officer, Allison Smith.
Following the career fair there will be a friendly competition basketball game between the Sacramento Police Department and the Sacramento Fire Department at John F. Kennedy High School. All proceeds from the game benefit John F Kennedy High School’s Criminal Justice Academy.
“Not only is this a great recruiting event for community members to discover more about the police department, but this also benefits the Criminal Justice Academy at local John F Kennedy Highschool,” said Smith.
The criminal justice academy provides high school students with opportunities to explore the broad range of careers and obtain specialized training in the criminal justice field during their enrollment in the program, while also earning all basic high school course requirements.
There is a $10 entry fee for the basketball game, kids 10 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased at the door or purchase tickets online.
