Tickets are now available for “Sacramento on Film: Celebrating 15 Years of California Revealed,” a special archival screening and fundraiser co-presented by California Revealed and the Center for Sacramento History.
The event will be held Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Jean Runyon Little Theatre in Memorial Auditorium. Doors open at 6 p.m., with screenings from 7-10 p.m.
The evening will feature home movies, short films and historic footage that capture a century of life in the Sacramento region, sourced from local archives. Hosted by film historian Matías Bombal, the program highlights rare glimpses of community memory and cultural history.
Since its launch, California Revealed has digitized more than 2,000 items for the Center for Sacramento History, helping preserve fragile originals while making local collections more widely accessible.
“We’re excited to see all the film and video from archives around the region and to help our friends at California Revealed,” said Center archivist Kim Hayden. “From our collections, you can expect to see footage of the Black Panthers protesting at the Capitol, Oak Park in the late 1960s, fun Mick Martin outtakes, Sacramento redevelopment, early shots of Cal Expo, old commercials and much more.”
All ticket sales will support California Revealed’s programs, which provide statewide digitization, preservation and access to California’s cultural heritage. Donations are tax-deductible and support efforts to keep the state’s stories visible, audible and remembered.
Tickets are $10 and are available online here.
California Revealed hosts more than 181,000 objects from over 450 partner organizations, free and accessible to the public at californiarevealed.org.
