City-funded program hosts marketing workshop for entrepreneurs on Sept. 26

Local community group Sactown Makers is hosting a free Marketing 101 Workshop for local entrepreneurs, creatives and business owners on Friday, Sept. 26, at Bloom Workspaces in Midtown.

Attendees will get training in real-world, relevant marketing strategies and insight into the entrepreneurial journey of Celia Surridge, founder and CEO of local marketing firm Capital Valley Marketing.

“We designed this event to make marketing approachable and actionable for small business owners while also highlighting the personal journey of an entrepreneur making an impact in Sacramento’s creative economy,” said Christina Granados, program manager of Sactown Makers.

The public workshop is part of Tomorrow’s Innovators Accelerator (TIA), where eight entrepreneurs with diverse backgrounds and goals develop their skills in tech, design and engineering through a 14-week training program in 3D printing, product development and business strategy.

Sactown Makers’ TIA program is supported by the City of Sacramento’s Office of Innovation and Economic Development through the Innovation Growth Fund. The program was selected as part of the City’s Innovation Incubator and Accelerator Grants, which invest in organizations that help entrepreneurs gain the tools, mentorship and resources they need to succeed.

Community members interested in attending the Marketing 101 Workshop can learn more and reserve a spot online at: Marketing 101 AMA with Celia Surridge – Navigating the Creative Economy.
