Applications now open for the Youth Program Scholarship Fund

The City of Sacramento’s Youth, Parks, & Community Enrichment Department is now accepting applications for the Youth Program Scholarship Fund.

The program provides financial assistance to youth ages 0-24 and families in need, helping them access quality recreation programs citywide. Eligible applicants will receive scholarships that cover registration and membership fees for eligible YPCE programs during the 2026 calendar year.

“We’re committed to making sure young people in Sacramento can access safe, enriching activities that support their growth and well-being,” said Anthony Munoz, YPCE recreation manager. “The Youth Program Scholarship Fund helps remove financial barriers so families can take advantage of the opportunities our community centers, sports programs and camps provide.”

Applicants must provide documentation verifying enrollment in programs such as WIC, CalFresh or Medi-Cal to meet the eligibility requirements.

The fund covers a wide range of activities, including swimming lessons and junior lifeguard camps; community center programs such as Kids’ Night Out and Teen Scene; summer day camps like Summer Oasis; and youth sports such as Jr. NBA, NFL Flag Football and Skate Pass.

Scholarships are valid from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2026, and must be renewed annually by meeting eligibility requirements. Registration for winter and spring programs opens Nov. 12, giving families the opportunity to apply their scholarships right away.
