The City of Sacramento’s Office of Nighttime Economy is partnering with the Sacramento County Opioid Coalition to offer free Naloxone training for hospitality and nighttime staff from 3-4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 9.
The training will be held at 300 Richards Blvd., room 221, with free parking available. RSVPs are required by emailing nighttime@cityofsacramento.org.
The Naloxone training will equip staff with the knowledge and skills needed to recognize and respond to opioid overdoses, including how to administer Narcan (Naloxone).
“These trainings are especially important to ensure that our community feels connected, educated, and prepared during the time of emergencies,” said the City’s Nighttime Economy Manager Tina Lee-Vogt. “This training is part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen a safer and more resilient community.”
Attendees will also receive a complimentary Narcan kit, a CPR face shield and additional resources, provided by the Sacramento County Opioid Coalition.
The City also hosts quarterly trainings designed to equip nighttime businesses with the essential information they need to operate both successfully and safely. Training and information are provided by the Office of Nighttime Economy, Code Compliance, Sacramento Police, and Sacramento Fire staff.
