‘Pubs, Clubs, and Bars’ training offered for Sacramento hospitality and nightlife businesses

The City of Sacramento’s Office of Nighttime Economy will host a free training session titled “Pubs, Clubs, and Bars” for nightlife and hospitality businesses on Jan. 22 from 3-5 p.m.

The training will take place at Memorial Hall inside Memorial Auditorium (1515 J St.). Attendees will receive two hours of validated free parking at the Memorial Garage (801 14th St.). Light refreshments will be provided.

RSVPs are encouraged. Email nighttime@cityofsacramento.org to RSVP or request additional information.

The training will cover essential business and safety practices for nightlife and hospitality operators. Representatives from several City departments are expected to participate, including the Office of Nighttime Economy, Entertainment Services Division, Sacramento Police Department, Sacramento Fire Department, and Code Compliance. The agenda will include a recap of 2025 and goals for 2026.

“These trainings provide businesses with clear, practical guidance to help them operate safely and successfully,” said the City’s Nighttime Economy Manager Tina Lee-Vogt. “Having multiple City departments together in one setting makes it easier for businesses to access resources, stay informed and connect with staff.”

Entertainment Permit holders who attend will receive complimentary three-ring binders and insert tabs from the City. A well-organized binder with easily accessible records is an important tool for successful operations.

The City offers various training sessions to provide hospitality and nighttime businesses with information and resources to support safe and successful operations. More information about upcoming trainings is available on the City’s website.
