City seeks proposals to transform 102-Acre Meadowview site

The City of Sacramento is seeking proposals to help guide the future development of a 102-acre City-owned property located at 3100 Meadowview Road in South Sacramento.

Through a newly issued Request for Expressions of Interest (RFEI), the City is inviting individuals, organizations and firms to share market insights, development trends and potential opportunities for the site. The information collected will help inform future planning and decision-making.

“The Meadowview community deserves thoughtful development that create jobs, housing and spaces that strengthen our neighborhoods,” said Councilmember Mai Vang, who represents the area. “We want proposals that honor the community’s voice and build prosperity for District 8.”

The RFEI outlines key considerations for respondents, including regulatory requirements, infrastructure needs, environmental factors and potential development pathways. Submissions should demonstrate an understanding of the site, propose potential land uses, address financial feasibility and outline strategies for implementation.

The Meadowview Road property was acquired by the City in 2022 and has since been the focus of extensive community engagement and technical analysis. This solicitation represents another step in the City’s ongoing effort to identify concepts that align with Sacramento’s long-term goals for economic vitality, housing and community-serving amenities.

Responses must be submitted through the City’s PlanetBids portal by 4 p.m. on Feb. 27. Questions regarding the RFEI are due by 4 p.m. on Feb. 9 via PlanetBids.

The District 8 Council Office will host a community meeting from 6-7:30 p.m. on Feb. 4 at John H. Still Elementary School, East Campus (2200 John Still Dr.) to answer questions about the solicitation process. A light dinner will be provided.
