Youth Resource & Employment Fair returns March 7 with expanded opportunities

Sacramento-area teens and young adults looking for jobs, internships and career connections will have a one-stop opportunity when the Youth Resource & Employment Fair returns.

Hosted by the City of Sacramento’s Youth, Parks, & Community Enrichment Department, the free event will take place Saturday, March 7, from 9:30 a.m. to noon at New City Hall (915 I St.). The fair is open to youth and young adults ages 13 to 24.

“Young people are ready to work, lead and build their futures when they have access to real opportunities,” said Kris Wimberly, Recreation Superintendent for Youth Workforce Development operations. “This fair brings employers, training programs and City resources together in one place so our youth can take practical steps toward their goals.”

More than 30 vendors are expected to participate, including local employers, financial institutions, higher education representatives, trade schools and military recruiters. Attendees can explore seasonal and career employment opportunities, stipend-based programs and internships offered through the City of Sacramento.

In addition to job connections, participants can access a professional headshot station and fashion gallery to help prepare for interviews and the workforce.

Event highlights also include information about summer camps, aquatics programs, Landscape & Learning opportunities and other City programs designed to help young people build skills and gain experience.

Onsite registration opens at 9:15 a.m., with doors opening at 9:30 a.m. Registration closes at 11:15 a.m., and the event concludes at noon. Registered attendees will receive a free swag bag while supplies last.

Sacramento Regional Transit is partnering with the City to help attendees travel to the event, and participants can use the event flyer to ride SacRT for free.
