Learn how to find and fix common leaks at this free April 29 webinar

Sacramento residents are invited to a free webinar on April 29 that can help them save water and money by finding and fixing common household leaks.

People can register online for the event, which will take place from noon to 1 p.m. and include expert advice from the City’s water conservation team.

“Many leaks are easy to miss, but they can have a big impact on both water use and utility bills,” said William Granger, the City’s water conservation coordinator. “This webinar will walk residents through simple ways to identify and address leaks both inside and outside the home.”

During the webinar, staff will demonstrate how to check for leaks using traditional methods, such as reading a water meter, as well as how to use the City’s free water tracking website to monitor usage and isolate potential leaks.

The session will also cover how to inspect and repair common problem areas like toilets, faucets, water heaters and supply lines.

“Many of these fixes are simpler than people think,” said Granger. “Our goal is to help people feel confident finding and addressing leaks on their own.”
