Homelessness Response Report: Extensive outreach and cleanup resolves large encampment in North Sacramento

The City’s Incident Management Team (IMT) received 640 calls for service last week and responded by engaging people experiencing homelessness, offering services and shelter options, and ensuring compliance with City laws and ordinances.

From April 13-19, the IMT responded to 512 unique locations, including a large encampment on the 1900 block of Marconi Circle in North Sacramento.

Staff from the Department of Community Response (DCR), the Sacramento Police Department’s IMPACT Team, County behavioral health specialists and navigators from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs spent three weeks in the area, providing coordinated outreach and service connection. In addition, 25 cubic yards of refuse was removed by the City’s cleanup partner, FS Global.
