Next stop: Overhaul of historic train depot

The historic train depot at 4th and I streets is being renovated to keep up with the growing demand for train transit. The renovation is phase II of the City’s multi modal transit center, currently the 7th busiest train station in the nation.

The project includes the architectural restoration and rehabilitation of the grand historic Sacramento Valley Station, including tenant improvements, mechanical and electrical upgrades and artwork conservation. Site improvements include upgraded ticketing machines, new bicycle facilities for storage and bike rental, and architectural lighting of the south facade and major public spaces.

The City expects to break ground in early January. Find more information on the project.
