Reducing carbon emissions is an important goal for the City.  Recently, the City’s fleet, which includes electric cars, hybrids, and garbage trucks that use renewable fuel, was named the #1 Government Green Fleet at the Green Fleet Conference.

This milestone comes on the heels of a recent agreement the city entered into with Clean Energy Fuel. The City will be purchasing 100 percent renewable liquefied natural gas to power the blue trucks that pick up neighborhood recycling and solid waste.

Thanks to this agreement, this will yield dividends. It translates into $1 million and thousands in carbon emissions saved.
