Parks and Rec teams with Elite Sports to host basketball skill building camp for kids

The Department of Parks and Recreation is helping sponsor a four day basketball skill building camp for students ages 6 to 16, with coaching from Kings legend Mike Bibby. The camp is being organized by Elite Sports.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for our community’s youth, and we’re thrilled to be announcing it the same week the arena plan was approved,” said Parks and Recreation Operations Manager Elizabeth Anderson.

The camp will be held Tuesday, June 17 through Friday, June 20, at Natomas Middle School, 3200 North Park Drive. The cost is $150 for the first 100 registrants, $175 for all others. The camp includes form shooting and repetition, ball handling skills, passing and conditioning, and guest speakers. Registration can be found at EliteYouthCamps.com. See the official flyers here.

Parks and Rec has previously co-sponsored three basketball clinics with Elite Sports, generally supplying the location and helping promote the clinics as an additional recreational offering to benefit the City’s children and teens.
