Weekend warriors help clean up graffiti

Graffiti in any city – small or large – is a challenge.  And it’s a challenge that most cities take head on because without enforcement or abatement, it can negatively impact the quality of life in a community. Sacramento is no different.

The City’s graffiti abatement program uses a variety of strategies to curb and reduce graffiti in the city. From proactive school education programs to providing free paint to private property owners who were victims of tagging.

But, one interesting feature of this program is employing area teenagers to help combat this ongoing battle. Watch the video highlighting these weekend warriors.

The graffiti abatement program is a seven-day-per-week operation.  In fact, on average, 3,000 cases of graffiti complaints are logged annually. More information about the program can be found here.
