Matchmaking Outreach Event for ESC, December 9

The Sacramento Kings, the Sacramento Capital Region Small Business Coalition, the City of Sacramento and Turner Construction will host a prime contractors and subcontractors matchmaking outreach event to educate and assist local contractors interested in competing for the nearly $300 million of biddable work in construction work for the new Entertainment and Sports Center (ESC).

Upcoming bid packages include finishes, building management equipment, central sound system, distributed antenna system and more.

DATE: Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. PST

LOCATION: Universal Technical Institute

4100 Duckhorn Drive, Sacramento, CA 95834

The Kings, working with the City of Sacramento, Turner Construction, Sacramento-Sierra Building Trades Council, and local business chambers, developed a program designed to ensure strong participation from local and small business contractors in the design and construction of the ESC. The program seeks to ensure that at least 60 percent of all biddable work goes to local companies, and at least 20 percent of all biddable work is awarded to small and emerging businesses.

The ESC will be completed by October 2016, in time to open for the 2016-17 NBA season.
