The City of Sacramento has been named a 2014-2016 Citizen Engaged Community by the Public Technology Institute!
By being designated as a Citizen–Engaged Community from the Institute, the City is being honored for effectively using various technological platforms in order to engage and empower their citizens in a quick and friendly manner. The Public Technology Institute also acknowledged Sacramento’s great increase in the use of mobile and social media platforms to engage the public this year.
This annual designation program was created five years ago to recognize superior service in multi-channel contact centers and best practices in the use of tools to connect with the community. The tools include the City’s Citizen Relationship/Records Management (CRM) Systems, 311 services, web portal technology, telephone systems and mobile communications infrastructure.
Getting this award was not easy! According to the Institute, Sacramento was able to reach the level of engagement with relatively few staff.
The Institute received more applications this year than any other year since the award’s inception in 2010.
The City of Sacramento was one of 11 cities with a population of 300,000 and more who were selected for this award.
