City Hall fountain operating for the first time in 18 months

The City continues to conserve water and for the first time in 18 months, the fountain in the breezeway between Old City Hall and New City Hall is once again operating.

Although City fountains were not subject to the State’s 2014 emergency water conservation regulations, the City decided to turn them off to conserve water from non-essential uses.

The City has been successful in its conservation efforts, specifically reducing 35 percent between January to May 2016 at City facilities, and have determined that, after nearly two years of significant conservation, the fountains can operate without impacting ongoing conservation efforts.

The City considers these water features important to the aesthetics of City Hall and will continue to maintain and operate them optimally.
