The Department of Parks and Recreation’s Aquatics Center is recruiting lifeguards for community pools. As a lifeguard, individuals age 15 years and up will teach children how to swim, learn how to save a life, and help put on special events and programs that benefit the community.
Lifeguard Academy Classes are available for trainings to obtain an American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification. If accepted, the Aquatics Center will cover 80% of training costs. Visit Aquatics to sign up for classes.
For those that are interested in becoming a lifeguard or want to know more about their responsibilities, the Department of Parks and Recreation is hosting Lifeguard Demo Days in the coming weeks. Lifeguard Demo Days include demonstrations in the water, so be sure to bring a swim suit and towel. See dates below.
