City Engineer Samar Hajeer wins APWA’s Project Manager of the Year!

The City’s very own Supervising Engineer Samar Hajeer won Project Manager of the Year in the Transportation Category for the American Public Works Association.

Samar’s work has been critical to the success of some of the most significant projects in the City’s history. She managed the entitlements and transportation project approvals of several major projects including the McKinley Village subdivision, the planned Major League Soccer (MLS) stadium in the Sacramento Railyards, and Golden 1 Center in downtown Sacramento.

During the 15 years that Samar has spent with the City, she has made herself an indispensable part of the City of Sacramento’s Public Works team. She is well known and highly respected by not only staff from the City of Sacramento and neighboring agencies, but also by the engineers, planners, developers, and lawyers with whom she partners with on project delivery.

The City would like to congratulate Samar on her extremely honorable award and is proud to have such an influential leader on our team.
