The Crocker Art Museum remains in an exclusive club of museums having just been awarded “reaccreditation” – the gold standard for museums in the United States – by the American Alliance of Museums. The Crocker was first awarded accreditation in 1975; since then, the Museum has been awarded reaccreditation each time that its status has been up for renewal.
Of the nation’s estimated 33,000 museums, only 1,065 are currently accredited, placing Crocker in a group of museums recognized for their public trust and accountability, mission and planning, collections stewardship, education and interpretation, financial stability, and facilities and risk management.
Congratulations to the Crocker!
