Grab your favorite rainboots and jacket because it’s going to be a rainy weekend in Sacramento! Spurts of heavy rain, a little over an inch total, and wind gusts between 25-35 miles per hour are expected today through Saturday, March 3. Although Sacramento will have rain throughout the weekend, most of weather concern is the snowfall, impacting areas 1500 feet or greater.
For mountain areas, this will be the largest snowstorm since 2011. Mountain travel is not encouraged; however, if you are planning to travel, expect delays when heading to the Sierras.
Please follow along for any other updates about the storm this weekend. Also, remember to call or email 311 about non-emergency hazards such as downed tree limbs, flooded drains, or traffic signals out.
